Pakistan's imports of telecom goods reach $1.167 billion during July-Feb 2019-20, up by 29.19 percent, official figures say. Up by $262.980 million during July-Feb 2019-20, telecom imports mounted from $904.020 million during July-Feb 2018-19, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics highlights.
The country's telecom items imports also surged by 15.10 percent or $18.207 million to $138.775 million during Feb 2020 from $120.568 million in Feb 2019. Import of mobile handsets mounted by 81 percent or $387.034 million to $865.169 million in July-Feb 2019-20 from $478.135 million in July-Feb 2018-19.
During Feb 2020, cellular handsets import soared by 93 percent or $50.22 million to $104.538 million from $54.318 million in Feb 2019. Low by 29 percent or $123.148 million, imports of other apparatuses declined to $302.737 million during July-Feb 2019-20 from $425.885 million in July-Feb 2018-19.
Feb 2020 also saw a fall in imports of other apparatuses by 48.40 percent or $32.042 million to $34.188 million comparing to the devices imports of $66.230 million in Feb 2019.
