Amid the spike in coronavirus cases in Pakistan, Punjab has conducted the test of more than 17000 people for the virus.
Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid took to her Twitter handle on Friday and said that 17069 have been tested so far. Out of these, the minister said, 16149 have been tested negative, while 920 have been confirmed to have the disease.

The doctor continued that these tests were conducted in Health Department's lab, Nishtar Hospital Multan, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, National Institute of Health and private sector.
Punjab has so far reported 11 deaths due to coronavirus. Meanwhile, total number of cases in Pakistan reached 2450 on Friday.
