The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has issued Rs20 million electricity bill to the Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) management for the consumption of electricity during trial service of the train, said sources.
According to sources, the contractors of the train have paid a bill of Rs80 million so far. The present bills have been issued by both the Allama Iqbal Town and Baghbanpura divisions of the Company. The train management had consumed 450,000 and 400,000 units respectively in these two divisions.
It may be noted that the Punjab government has approved consumption of over 140 million units by the train annually, which stands around 10 million units monthly. The LESCO would supply electricity to the train at the rate of Rs22 per unit.
