Four civilians including a 15-year-old girl were injured after Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday.

In a tweet on Saturday, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Major General Babar Iftikhar (DG ISPR) said that during the last 24 hours, Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing in Sharda, Dhudnial and Shahkot Sectors along LOC.

He said the Indian forces have been deliberately targeting civilian population by using artillery and heavy mortars.

"Due to Indian Army’s indiscriminate fire of heavy weapons at Bessan Wali and Chhari villages, four innocent civilians including a 15 year old girl sustained serious injuries," the DG ISPR said.

The DG ISPR continued that Pakistan Army responded effectively with matching calibre and targeted those Indian Army posts which initiated fire.

"In 2020, Indian Army committed 708 Ceasefire Violations so far, in which 2 citizens embraced shahadat while 42 sustained injuries," the DG ISPR tweeted.
