Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) Northern Zone has urged the government to include chicken meat and eggs in the export list of those items which have been allowed for export to Afghanistan.
PPA (Northern Region) Vice Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Fargham while addressing media persons here on Monday claimed that the poultry sector was facing over 30 per cent reduction in the consumption of poultry meat domestically. It is because of shutting down marriage halls, ban on functions and restaurants.
He welcomed the government's permission to allow export of selected items to Afghanistan for three days a week and claimed that the poultry sector can help Pakistan earn precious foreign exchange by exporting this overproduction. He said that Pakistan Poultry supplies prime quality protein food in the form of poultry meat and eggs at a very affordable price.
