No Ramazan Bazaar will be set up in Punjab: Buzdar

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has announced not to setup conventional 'Ramadan Bazaars' across the province in the wake of growing spread of novel coronavirus, effecting hundreds of people on daily basis.

The chief minister stated this during a meeting with Provincial Industry and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal at the CM office on Sunday. "We have chalked out an effective plan in order to maintain stability in the prices of essential items during Ramadan-ul-Mubarik. Those found involved in hoarding and profiteering will be brought in the grip of law and will also be dealt with sternly," Mian Aslam informed Buzdar.

He also informed the CM about the matters pertaining to providing relief to the masses and mode of distributing financial assistance under the "Ramadan Relief Package". Speaking on the occasion, Buzdar said that deserving persons will be provided direct fiscal aid in the holy under the Ramadan package.

While asserting to initiate an indiscriminate action against hoarders and profiteers in the prevailing untoward situation, the CM vowed that those looting the masses under the garb of getting undue profits will find their abode behind the bars.

He stressed that artificial hike in the prices of vegetables, fruits and pulses will not be tolerated at any cost.
