Primary assistance the poor section of society received is from the relief network of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) across the country during lockdown from Covid-19 threat, Chief of JI Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said Monday.
During a visit to the cut-price oven made loaves centers at Islam Chowk and Gulshan-e-Bihar in Orangi Town established to serve needy under district west JI project, he said that the relief network - Alkhidmat is providing rations and readymade foods to the poor on the directives of Central Chief Senator Siraj-ul-Haq.
Talking to newsmen, he said that despite billions of rupees funds, the federal and Sindh government have failed to cater to the poor in the hour of need. "Even relief supplies to poor are not being provided on precise process and on other hand JI and Alkhidmat are on forefront providing relief to people in distress," he added.
