The Governor Sindh Imran Ismail presided over a meeting to review arrangements for controlling the spread of Coronavirus at Shahbaz Hall, here on Wednesday.
MPAs Haleem Adil Shaikh, Jamal Siddiqui, Sidra Imran, Bilal Ghaffar and advisor to Governor Sindh Umeed Ali Jonejo also attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Fuad Ghaffar Soomro while giving briefing about Coronavirus situation in District Hyderabad informed that 1036 people had been tested and 201 people were tested positive out of them 136 patients had been cured and three were died. He informed the meeting that 394 people of Tablighi Jamaat were quarantined. He said there were still 63 Corona cases in Hyderabad out of them 38 cases were locally transmitted therefore 270 people who remained in contact of those 38 corona positive cases were also tested and out of them 17 corona positive cases were reported while remaining 43 people would be tested soon.
The DC informed that doctors and paramedical staff had been provided safety kits, masks, gloves, sanitizers and safety equipments. Giving details of quarantine centers and isolation wards, the DC informed that quarantine centers were established at 256 flats of Labour Department, at Rajputana Hospital with 70 rooms, Memon Hospital with 30 rooms. He said isolation wards were established at Sindh government Hospital Kohsar with 124 beds, Isra Hospital with 220 beds, Liaqat University Hospital Hyderabad with 140 beds and isolation wards with 154 beds were established in Hyderabad Club.
He informed that there were 36 ventilators available in Hyderabad. He also informed that 24 centers were established for distributing amount among deserving people under Ehsas Kiflat Program of Federal Government where people had been distributed amount of Rs 12000/- with following all safety measures including social distancing.
