Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has called for summoning the session of Parliament immediately, and to approve the relief package given by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to the poor people.
Addressing a joint news conference here on Thursday, PPP Central Information Secretary Dr Nafisa Shah said, "the relief package will be illegal, if the PTI government does not take approval from the Parliament because its large part is being used for daily expenses."
She said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had already said that "we should fight against the COVID-19 together and we should shun all differences but the government is fighting with the PPP."
The PPP information secretary said that the doctors during their news conference on Tuesday told that a number of patients of coronavirus appeared in the last week due to relaxation of lockdown.
He said that the doctors gave the proposal of a strict lockdown. Doctors told the news conference that a number of coronavirus cases come to light in the past week due to the easing of the lockdown, which was unprecedented.
She said that the president of Pakistan was adopting a policy of reconciliation for the holy month of Ramzan which could increase the cases of coronavirus patients. She said, "The government should restrain its tiger force as they are spreading chaos in the country. Policy should be formulated keeping in view the warnings of the WHO."
The PPP leader said that the doctors had sounded the alarm. "How can the doctors and paramedical staff who are working at the risk of their lives hold a press conference at the behest of the Sindh government? No package has been announced for those affected in which three doctors and two nurses have martyred," she said.
