National Assembly Committee on Virtual Session has invited all parliamentary leaders in it next meeting to be held on April 29 (Wednesday) to discuss mechanics for holding coming session of the parliament.
National Assembly Committee on Virtual Session Chairman Syed Fakhar Imam has written letters to the parliamentary leaders to attend the next meeting.
The committee in it previous session, which had been held on April 21, had decided to hold the session of the National Assembly in physical presence of the members instead of virtual. According to the letters written by the committee chairman, the committee decided to consult with parliamentary leaders to further discuss the agenda and modalities of the National Assembly session during the coronavirus crisis.
The committee chairman has written letters to Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Parliamentary leader Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s Khawaja Muhammad Asif, and Awami Muslim League's Sheikh Rashid Ahmed. He also wrote invitation letters to Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal Pakistan (MMAP) Asad Mahmood, Nawabzada Shah Zain Bugti from Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), and Amir Haider Azam Khan from the Awami National Party (ANP).
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Deputy Parliamentary Leader Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Ghos Bakhsh Khan Mahar of Grand Democratic Alliance ( GDA) have been invited to attend the meeting.
Tariq Bashir Cheema from Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q), Khalid Hussain Magsi from Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Muhammad Akhtar Mengal from Balochistan National Party (BNP), and Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui from Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) were invited.
The committee, in consultation with parliamentary leaders, will present its recommendations to the speaker of the National Assembly for holding the coming session of the National Assembly.
