The federal government Friday appointed Yousaf Naseem Khokhar as Secretary Commerce, replacing Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera.

According to notifications issued by the Establishment Division, Secretary Interior Division, Yousaf Naseem Khokhar has been transferred and posted as Secretary Commerce with immediate effect.

He has replaced Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera, who has recently been made Secretary Cabinet Division, with additional charge of Secretary Commerce. Khokhar has served as Chief Secretary Punjab and Secretary Water and Power and Secretary Planning, Development and Special Initiatives. Federal government also appointed Major Azam Suleman (retired) as Secretary Interior Division.

He was Chief Secretary in Punjab and enjoying full powers but was made OSD on April 23, 2020 after a meeting between the Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab, Sardar Usman Buzdar.
