ABU DHABI: Egypt's state-owned Sugar and Integrated Industries Company (SIIC) said on Sunday it was looking to buy 100,000 tonnes of raw sugar in a tender.
"We are looking to buy 50,000 tonnes for July shipment and 50,000 tonnes for August shipment," a SIIC official who declined to be named said over the telephone.
Results are expected late on Sunday, the official said. SIIC's last reported purchase was on April 23, when the company bought 50,000 tonnes of raw Brazilian sugar from Eridania at $534 per tonne on a cost, insurance and freight basis for July shipment.
