India has been violating ceasefire law and had martyred and injured several innocent civilians in the last few days.
In a recent incident, two women identified as 45 years old Ruqaya Begum and 60-year-old Sarwar Bibi sustained serious injuries due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian soldiers in Rakhchikri sector.
Condemning the deplorable targeting of innocent civilians by the Indian occupation forces, the Foreign Office stated that ceasefire violations are against all established humanitarian norms and professional military conduct.
The FO said Indian forces have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-caliber mortars and automatic weapons along the LoC and Working Boundary. So far, India has committed 913 ceasefire violations.
The FO statement further said that these violations by India are a threat to ‘regional peace and security and may lead to a strategic miscalculation'. “The deliberate targeting of civilian populated areas is indeed deplorable and contrary to human dignity, international human rights and humanitarian laws," the statement said.
Pakistan urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire and instructed them to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and the Working Boundary.
