NKATI leaders appeal to Sindh govt to continue lockdown

Patron-in-Chief North Karachi Association of Trade Industry (NKATI) Capt A Moiz Khan (Retd) and President Nasim Akhtar have expressed grave concern over rumors of end or easing of lockdown across Sindh, including Karachi, and appealed to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah to continue lockdown for prevention of Covid-19 pandemic and saving the lives of masses.

They appealed that instead of ending the lockdown, it should be more tightened and people should be forced to stay at home so that precious human lives could be saved.

"No such proposal should be considered, in the current situation we cannot afford any such move as rumors were circulating on social media to end the lockdown in a day or two, which caused concern among the industrialists," he said.

NKATI leaders pointed out that it would be a great tragedy if the lockdown was lifted. Medical experts and doctors have repeatedly appealed to the Government of Sindh not to end the lockdown and people should stay home so that precious human lives can be saved from possible losses.

"Measures like timely lockdown to protect the lives of the people from Covid-19 pandemic are certainly commendable."

The industrial community is grateful to Syed Murad Ali Shah and values his efforts but at the same time want to make his efforts more effective because if any hasty steps are taken to end the lockdown, it will be very dangerous for human lives", they added.

Capt A Moiz Khan (Retd) and Nasim Akhtar also thanked Bilawal Bhutto Zardari under whose leadership the Sindh Govt took effective measures to curb the spread of a dangerous epidemic like coronavirus.
