Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday criticized the govt's strategy of dealing with Covid-19 and said instead of waging a war against Covid-19, a war is being fought with the Opposition.
The PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and others told media at a press conference here at the PML-N Model Town Secretariat that the govt is not dealing with the pandemic issue as per recommendations of the medical experts and WHO guidelines.
Ahsan Iqbal said the incumbent government is facing confusion. He said social distancing and lockdown are two modes for containing spread of virus but instead of following the same in letter and spirit, the government is easing down lockdown which may spread the virus.
Rejecting reports of talks with the government over NAB amendment ordinance, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq demanded abolition of National Accountability Bureau instead of amendment in NAB laws.
Khawaja Saad Rafique criticized Corona Tiger Force and said there is no need to create such a force when state machinery exists.
Saad said that the NAB Act is being linked to the 18th Amendment, which is not true and instead of amending NAB laws, this institution should be abolished.
Why no inquiries are being conducted on Malam Jabba, BRT Peshawar, sugar and flour scam, he questioned?
He requested the Supreme Court to punish those who robbed Rs 40 billion of EOBI.
Saad Rafique said the NAB was established by Pervez Musharraf to punish his opponents. However, he admitted that accountability process during the PML-N regime was also not perfect.
Slamming the issuance of NAB notices to Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah, the PML-N leader said these notices are nothing but political revenge. He said Hamza Shahbaz has served a long imprisonment for his crime of being son of Shahbaz Sharif.
Meanwhile, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan is behind the recent NAB notice sent to Shahbaz Sharif.
