NKATI chief urges Sindh CM to eliminate encroachments

North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry(NKATI) president Nasim Akhtar has pointed out the growing illegal activities of land mafia in the industrial area and demanded Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah to take notice with immediate action.

He expressed deep concern over the illegal activities of encroachment mafia, said due to Covid-19 pandemic, Sindh government and other concerned departments are engaged in measures to control the pandemic which has been taken advantage of by the land mafia.

"In the dire situation of Covid-19 pandemic when the Sindh government's focus is on curbing the epidemic, the land mafia has become active in the North Karachi Industrial Area and has started encroaching on the industrial area while the chain of illegal constructions has also gained momentum and now their boldness has increased to such an extent that they are not afraid of encroaching the main roads and carrying out illegal constructions," he said.

NKATI leaders pointed out that a house was being constructed illegally in Sector 6-A of North Karachi Industrial Area which was stopped with the help of police. Due to illegal constructions and encroachments, production activities have been severely affected and the exporters suffered losses. Several times warnings have been made to eliminate the violations, but this mafia is unwilling to listen to anyone.

NKATI patron in chief Capt A Moiz Khan urged the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah to play their due role in eliminating encroachments and immediately take action against land mafia.

He demanded to stop preventing illegal constructions and directing the concerned departments to take immediate action so that industrial activities can continue without interruption.
