More than 4,000 utility stores functioning: USC chairman

Utility Stores Corporation (USC) chairman Zulqarnain Ali Khan on Sunday said under the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan, more than four thousand utility stores and 500 franchises were providing 19 different articles of daily use to the masses during the holy month of Ramazan across the country.

The Utility Stores were playing instrumental role in providing relief to the consumers in the country and efforts would be made for ensuring more facilities at utility stores to facilitate the large scale consumers aimed at lessening their problems he said.

The USC chairman further stated that government was providing subsidy of billion of rupees on the provision of articles of daily use like cooking oil, rice, tea and dates etc during Ramazan on utility stores in the country.

Addressing a press conference at Jinnah House, he disclosed that 40 lakh consumers were benefited and sale of Rs. 80 crore was being recorded so far on daily basis.

Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs, Usman Dar said 34 utility stores in Sialkot are linked Deputy Commissioner Office through CCTV cameras aimed at providing maximum facilities to the consumers. The corona relief Tiger Force will assist the consumers and ensure social distance at utility stores he disclosed.
