BAHAWALPUR: Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Asif Iqbal Chaudhry Monday said that more than 0.8 million metric ton wheat has been procured in the division which was close to the set target.
He said the division has left behind all other divisions of the province in this regard. He told that target of procuring 317,461 metric ton was set for Bahawalpur district and as of today, 319,916 metric ton wheat has been procured which is more than the set target. While the targets of procuring 355,752 metric ton and 180,056 metric ton wheat from Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan districts respectively would also be met within couple of days, he hoped.
He told that wheat procurement process was eased up for the farmers and transparency was being ensured.
