Provinces asked to ensure strict implementation of SOP

The federal government has written a letter to all the provinces, the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K), the Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) for strict implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) devised to control spread of the coronavirus during Ramzan and Eidul Fitr holidays.

The Ministry of Interior has written a letter to the chief secretaries of the Punjab, Sindh, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, AJ&K, GB and the chief commissioner Islamabad for mandatory implementation of the SOPs during Ramzan and Eid.

According to the letter, consultations were made during the meeting of the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on May 12.

Already agreed SOPs containing 20 points for Ramazan and Traveeh management will remain applicable even for the last Ashra of Ramazan and for Eid prayers, it says.

It says that the guidelines about social distancing and other preventive measures issued by the Ministry of Health will be followed during the last Ashra of Ramazan and Eid holidays.

The SOPs will be implemented and violators may be sternly dealt with accordingly as per the law, it says.
