Sindh Minister for Information, Local Government, Housing & Town Planning, Religious Affairs, Forest and Wildlife Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the major focus of the Sindh government in the forthcoming budget would be on the health sector.
The provincial Information Minister said that in view of the situation emerged after the outbreak of the coronavirus, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also asked the Sindh Chief Minister to give priority to the health sector in the forthcoming budget.
He said that although the Sindh government had done a lot of work in the health sector in the past, but in the aftermath of the spread of the coronavirus, there was a need to focus more on the Health sector.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that there were already a lot of achievements of Sindh government regarding the improvement Health sector which included the upgradation of all the basic Health Units, District Health Units, as well as the extension of National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in other districts, along with the use of cyberknife technology to treat cancer patients.
Nasir said that besides this, the Sindh government was also constantly supporting the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation in which people not only from Sindh but also from all over the country come for treatment.
He said that in Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences, which was located in Gambat, Liver Transplantation was being performed.
The provincial minister said that he was not claiming that everything was fine with regard to health facilities in rural areas of Sindh, but he said that now things were very different and there had been a lot of improvement in health facilities situated in the rural areas of the province.-PR
