The Punjab government has allowed the opening of shopping malls and other markets, including large plazas all week. As per details, on the direction of the Punjab government's cabinet committee on Anti-Corona, Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman issued a notification to open shopping malls and other markets including large plazas. According to the notification, all shopping malls and plazas in the province will remain open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm, while food courts and play areas in shopping malls and major plazas will remain closed. The notification said that SOPs would have to be implemented in all shopping malls and plazas. According to the Secretary Primary and Secondary Health Care, rules and regulations for shopping malls and plazas have also been issued along with the notification. It may be recalled that during the hearing of the Coronavirus suo motu notice case, the Supreme Court had ordered to keep small markets across the country open on Saturday and Sunday and also to open shopping malls.
