President Dr Arif Alvi on Wednesday distributed ration among Afghan refugees here in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
While addressing the ceremony, the president said Pakistan wanted early and honorable repatriation of Afghan refugees. He said that Pakistan kept its doors open for Afghan brethren who had been facing war and oppression for several decades. He said Pakistan wanted stability and durable peace in Afghanistan.
The president said they had provided the same facilities and cooperation to Afghan refugees extended to their own citizens to protect them from the coronavirus. He said Islam taught them compassion and good feelings for fellow Muslims and in the same spirit Pakistan and Turkey had been hosting Afghan and Syrian refugees on their respective lands.
