Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on Thursday appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to take notice of excesses, being committed against urban parts of Sindh, which the party alleged are being exploited for the last fifty years.
MQM-P Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui addressing a press conference at Bahadurabad central office accused Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Sindh government of pushing the urban areas in backwardness because of its bias attitude toward them.
He also blamed the provincial government for fanning bias in the province under an organized planning, which is reflected from the appointments of 151 officers in various departments through Sindh Public Service Commission, in which he alleged not a single Urdu Speaking person is included.
Siddiqui said that Karachi, which contributed seventy percent in federal and ninety percent in provincial exchequer is subjected to injustices and destruction. He appealed to the Supreme Court to take notice of this situation.
He recalled that the party took the case of national census to apex court in which population has been shown lower than its actual strength. However, he deplored that still no headway has been made on this case.
The MQM-P Convener appealed to the CJP to issue a decision in which urban parts of province are considered equal to the rural parts of Sindh.
