Two women died of coronavirus in Srinagar, taking the death toll due to the infectious disease to 20 in the territory. Two women including a 70-year-old from Parisabad area of Badgam and an 80-year-old from Bemina in Srinagar died of the virus.
Nodal Officer for COVID-19 at Government Medical College held Srinagar, Dr Salim Khan, told media that the woman from Parisabad, Badgam who was initially admitted in SMHS Hospital on 15th May, tested positive for COVID-19. "She was shifted to CD Hospital Srinagar on May 18 and passed away on Thursday," he said.
He said that the 80-year-old woman from Usmania Colony Bemina, Srinagar who died at SMHS on Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. It is worth mentioning here that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in occupied Kashmir till now is 1492. Among these 1238 are in the Kashmir Valley, 211 in Jammu division and 43 are in Ladakh region.
