Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced a compensation of one million rupees for the heirs of the each victims of flight PK-8303 crash.
According to PIA spokesperson Abdullah Khan, district managers would personally visit houses of the victims to hand over Rs1 million to meet funeral expenses.
He said that according to PIA rules and regulations, a compensation of Rs500,000 was annou8nced for heirs of the victims but on the directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan the amount has been doubled to Rs1 million.
Moreover, he said that DNA samples were being taken for the identification of the victims. A special team from Lahore has reached Karachi; he said and added that PIA administration has already contacted families of 96 victims.
Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar said the government would bear the cost of repairing the affected houses and the damage to the vehicles would also be compensated.
