Around 97 bodies have been recovered at the site of plane crash near Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
Some 31 bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital while 66 were kept in the morgue at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). Out of 31 bodies including 6 females and 25 males at Civil Hospital, only three were identified.
Similarly, JPMC has received 66 bodies including 20 females, 43 males and three children, out of them 16 were identified. The post mortems of all 97 bodies were conducted and their DNA samples were also collected. The process of identifying them through DNA tests is in progress. Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj-Gen Babar Iftikhar on Saturday confirmed through his official Twitter handle that two survivors of the crash are under treatment in the hospitals. Moreover, he said 25 houses were affected in this incident, which were now cleared and their residents were shifted at various places with the assistance of civil administration.
