Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq has called upon the government to immediately convene a meeting of the national leadership on the Kashmir issue.
Addressing a meeting of the JI provincial heads, he said that the brutalities of Indian occupation forces in Held Kashmir had crossed all limits and an effective strategy must be devised to check India's repression. He said after the humiliating defeat in Ladakh against Chinese forces, India could target civilians on the Pakistan border or the LoC for face-saving. He said the international community must be kept fully informed of India's provocations.
Sirajul Haq decried the government's step-motherly treatment to the overseas Pakistanis. He said the Pakistanis abroad had been remitting billions of dollars every year and helping the nation in distress, however, he said the treatment given to them on return was a matter of shame. He demanded that the double fare and quarantine rent charged from the overseas Pakistanis returning home be reimbursed to them forthwith.
Referring to the plane crash in Karachi, the JI Chief said that the whole nation was grieved over the tragedy. He called for a transparent enquiry into the crash so that another tragedy could be averted in the future.
Sirajul Haq lauded the services of the Al-Khidmat Foundation and the JI workers to the people during lock down and the month of Ramazan. He said that the whole nation was a witness to their services in this crisis.
