A beaming minister of science and technology has won the moon-sighting battle in a highly impressive manner. That he was cent percent confident about his 'prediction' is a fact that has found its best expression from his press conference that he addressed on the eve of Eid, reiterating his stance that he wants to end squabbles over moon-sighting rejecting notions that technology should not be involved in moon-sighting. According to him, ministry of science and technology had formed a committee comprising members from the Space Technology Department, mathematicians and officials from the Meteorological Department, which concluded that Eidul Fitr in Pakistan would be on Sunday.
Having said that, I would urge the honourable minister to also speak about his ministry's performance in relation to Covid-19 challenge.
