The Divisional Task Force of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) carried out a search operation in Kasur circle against the consumers involved in power theft and detected 29 electricity connections with various malfunctions on Friday.
According to details, a direct supply was detected on 13 electricity meters, followed tampering with two meters, display wash on six meters, sticking slow on one, five dead stop while two meters were detected with power theft through shunting.
The task force disconnected all the 29 meters and charged a detection bill of 24,013 units during the operation. Furthermore, applications have been submitted to the respective police stations for registration of criminal cases against the culprits. The LESCO is carrying out an anti-power theft drive throughout the region over the last year to curb all such practices.
