Expressing his concerns over 78 more deaths from the novel coronavirus within 24 hours, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Shehbaz Sharif said on Saturday apprehensions expressed by doctors, experts and analysts over easing of the lockdown were proving to be true.
Reiterating the demand for a meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) to completely reconsider government's strategy, the Opposition leader warned that negligence could result in a huge tragedy.
In a statement, Shehbaz alleged that the coronavirus was spreading because of government's thoughtlessness and lack of national strategy. He also expressed his concerns over deaths of doctors from the coronavirus. Criticizing the PTI government's steps against locusts and the coronavirus, Shehbaz said that the government's strategy of stopping locusts with drums and maintaining silence on deaths from the coronavirus had completely failed.
