The export of sports goods reached to US$ 269.17 million in July-April (2011-12) as compared to the exports of US$ 262.94 million during July-April (2010-11), showing an upward trend of 2.3 percent, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported.
During the period under review, the export of footballs increased by 8.74 percent by growing from US$ 115.72 million last year to US$ 125.83 million during the ongoing fiscal year, the date revealed.
Similarly, there has been upward trend in the exports of other sports goods, which increased from US$50 million last year to US$ 52.78.
However, the export of gloves decreased by 6.27 percent during the period under review, the PBS data revealed.
Meanwhile, during the period, export of surgical goods and medical equipments witnessed surge of 17.41 percent.
During last ten months of current financial year, surgical goods and medical equipments worth US$ 249.56 million were exported from the country as against the export of US$ 212 million in same period last year.
