Talking to PTV, he said they have prepared hajj policy and relating arrangements keeping in mind previous experiences as they are essential before hajj. He added that they held consultative meetings with all stake holders, pressmen in this regard.
Joint Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs Shehzad Ahmad also added that they have shifted officials of the ministry to Makkah to observe hajj arrangements.
He further said hajj mission on their coming back home will hold discussion with the staff and all stake holders on the basis of their experience which mostly relate to unavailability of the welfare staff, lack of medical staff and less no of paramedic staff. The mission would also check issues regarding transport facility.
Replying to a question, he said every pilgrim wants to get accomodation near Haram Sharif but due to extension of haram and demolishing of 18 nearby buildings it would not possible this year.
The official said they also held meetings with the Saudi Arabian Hajj/Umra ministery to allow hujjaj to visit old and new Mina places easily.
Replying another query Joint Secretary said hujjaj will have the facility of train service this year with charges of 100 riyals paid by them while the remaining amount would be apid by the government.
He informed that they have decided hajj fare as Rs. 2,68,000 including all dues and this raise is because of the incresing riyal value.
He further said they have also dispatched allied mission with 180 doctors and two paramedics this year for 14 dispensaries in Makkah and Madina.
About Telecom facilities, he said the authorities talked with the Saudi telecommunication companies about the issue, adding, they agreed to provide hujjaj a sim card on their arrival at Jeddah airport with balance of five riyal so that they can talk to their families during their stay at Makkah and Medina.
