KARACHI: Madonna has reportedly had a private tour of an Italian art museum after the gallery agreed to close its doors to “regular visitors” for a day.

As per media reports, the Queen of Pop received the royal treatment after offering the world-famous Uffizi Gallery in Florence an undisclosed amount of money to enjoy the collection in private.

Art expert Cristina Acidini, who acted as her guide round the 16th century museum said "Madonna was very interested in the works of Botticelli, but also in the explanations about the painting involving pagan and sacred myths."

The superstar singer is currently on her MDNA world tour. Amongst the 15 member group was Madonna’s boyfriend Brahim Zaibat, and her 11-year-old son Rocco.

Madonna has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and is recognized as the world's top-selling female recording artist of all time by the Guinness Book of World Records.

She is also considered to be one of the 25 Most Powerful Women of the Past Century according to Time magazine.

The artist has a knack for continuously reinventing both her music and her image, while at the same time retaining a standard of autonomy within the recording industry.

Though critics mostly praise her diverse musical productions, the singer is no stranger to controversy and continues to live life on her own terms.
