KARACHI: J.K. Rowling revealed on Tuesday the cover of her first book since the successful Harry Potter Franchise. The Casual Vacancy is aimed at the adult audience and is a story of an English idyllic town, Pagford in the wake of Barry Fairbrother’s death. The death of Barry is as a catalyst of war in the town, as the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council is a bone of contention and is craved by everyone in town. The book is published by Little, Brown and Company and will hit shelves on September 27 of this year. Little, Brown and Company describe it as ‘a big book of a small town’ as it has 512 pages trumping the likes of The Prisoner of Azkaban. The book will be Rowling’s first attempt at literature after the Harry Potter series. The famous wizard series comprised of seven volumes, having sold 450 million copies, and translated into 74 languages. The entire series turned out to be so successful that it also made an entry in Hollywood via the cinematic route where perhaps unsurprisingly, the series received immense applause and commercial success.
