KARACHI: Johnny Depp reportedly had "blazing arguments" with former flame Vanessa Paradis before they called it quits.
According to an insider, there was an unresolved resentment between the two because of the Dark Shadows star's highly successful career.
The source claimed that it was 39-year-old Paradis who encouraged Depp (49) to take on blockbuster roles such as the 2003 megahit “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” instead of the independent movies Depp usually-favored, causing his career to sky-rocket.
According to US Weekly, they had “blazing fights,” with Paradis feeling she’d sacrificed her career for his, and eventually ‘taking out her frustrations’ on him.
The two are parents to 13-year-old Lily-Rose and 10-year-old Jack and have always made it a priority to put their children's needs first. The last time the former couple was photographed together was on the red carpet in 2010, and Depp was apparently heartbroken when their relationship began to come to an end.
On June 19, Depp's representative released a statement explaining that they had amicably separated. The source added: "Johnny was heartbroken but they agreed the kids' lives shouldn't be affected. That's why they didn't announce it.”
With the break-up of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, is Hollywood ready for another celebrity battle?
