KARACHI: The woman who ruled the Indian box office during the 80s and 90s, Sridevi will be making her return to the silver screen in September this year with her movie “English Vinglish” where she appears as the protagonist who is a housewife enrolled in an English speaking course to please her husband and family.

The movie is directed by debutant director Gauri Shinde and produced by R. Balki and features guest appearance by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachan, which the legendary actor did without charging a single dime.

It is a story of stress faced by every average middle-class Indian woman.

The talk of the town is that the movie that marks the comeback of Sridevi clashes with Kareena Kapoor starrer “Heroin” by Madhur Bhandarkar as it is also releasing on the same date.

Adding fuel to competition Heroin is also a woman-centric movie where Kareena plays the leading role.

Despite the competition English Vinglish co-producers Balki and Eros Entertainment have decided to stick to the original release date.
