KARACHI: The Met Office on Monday forecast another spell of monsoon rains in the country from next Friday.
In its fresh weather outlook, it said, “monsoon currents are penetrating into north-eastern parts of the country. Seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending south-eastward.”
Thundershowers are expected at isolated places of Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions from Tuesday to Wednesday. Another spell of light to moderate rains is expected at scattered places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha and Faisalabad divisions from Friday to Sunday.
Thundershower has been predicted at scattered places of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday and from Friday to Saturday, while isolated thundershower is likely over Malakand and Hazara divisions on Tuesday.
The office said mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of Balochistan. However, light rain/ thunderstorms are likely at isolated places of Zhob and Kalat divisions on Tuesday.
In Sindh, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most parts of the province, however light rain/ thunderstorms is likely at isolated places along Sindh coast towards the end of the week.
In Kashmir, it said thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places on Wednesday. Another spell of moderate rains is expected at scattered places with few heavy falls from Saturday to Sunday
Weather in Gilgit-Baltistan, the office said, will remain mainly dry during the week. However, light rain is likely at isolated places on Thursday.
