KARACHI: Tom Cruise has been keeping in touch with his daughter Suri via video chats since his wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce last month.
Holmes has reportedly been given primary custody of daughter but that doesn’t mean that
Cruise doesn’t have communication with Suri.
In fact, Cruise’s lawyer said they have been
talking over video chat.
There is no limit on the amount of communication he can have with his 6-year-old daughter Suri, Radar Online reported.
When Suri is on visitation with Cruise, Holmes is also entitled to unlimited communication
with the daughter.
Suri is permitted to call or video chat with her father whenever she would like, sources
told the media.
He is expected to see Suri soon through a short order, his lawyer said.
“Tom will be seeing Suri very soon. I don’t know exactly when that will be, and I couldn’t
tell you, but I do know it will be very soon,” Cruise’s attorney Bert Fields said.
“Tom loves his Suri very much, as he does his other two children. Tom is a family man and
dedicated to his children. They are the centre of his world,” he added.
Fields told the media that both Cruise and Holmes were advised that video chatting would be
a “very useful tool” to aid Suri through her parents’ divorce. It would help her to adjust
with her new living arrangements.
Fields also noted during an interview that “Tom just lights up” when Suri’s face appears on
his computer screen.
More than 75 percent of the divorce settlement documents pertain to Suri and the terms of
the custody agreement.
Cruise just finished filming “Oblivion” in Iceland and may be visiting with Suri as early as
next week, sources added.
