KARACHI: The protagonist of Marvel’s “Thor” franchise, Chris Hemsworth will reportedly star in filmmaker Steven Spielberg’s Sci-fi film “Robopocalypse”.

The movie is based on a novel of the same name, which deals with the human struggle to survive with apocalyptic uprising. The novel is written by New York Times best-selling author, Daniel H. Wilson.

According to a source, Spielberg was impressed by Hemsworh when the two met for the first time. Apart from roles in superhero flicks “Thor” and “The Avengers”, the 28-year-old Australian is also know for his roles in “Snow White and the Huntsman” and 2009 sci-fi smash hit “Star Trek”.

DreamWorks and Fox have reportedly teamed up to co-finance Spielberg’s forthcoming sci-fi mega project Robopocalypse, which is slated for a release in the year 2014.
