Holmes & Young sales soar after Tom-Kat high-profile split

KARACHI: Katie Holmes label which she started with her longtime personal Stylist friend Jeanne Yang, has been doing astoundingly well post her high-profile divorce from Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise.

The 33-year-old’s fashion label, Holmes and Yang has seen sales soar since her split from the 50-year-old actor. The success comes after news confirming the label will debut at this year’s prestigious New York Fashion Week, to be held in September.

There seems to be a silver lining for Katie Holmes in her complicated divorce from Tom Cruise, as staff from several Barney's stores, which have stocked the label claim sales and interest in the line have increased significantly.

“The way she's getting photographed today, she's in a position to get more exposure than ever before. She's not waiting for fashion editors and stylists to come and pull her clothes,” said Robert Burke, a former Bergdorf Goodman Executive.

Once renowned for her effortless jeans and blouse combinations, the actress has taken a more dedicated approach to fashion since the announcement of her split on July 9th.

She stepped out for the first time after the announcement in a Holmes & Yang dress after she had filmed a scene at the Parsons School of Design in New York, for a future episode of the hit reality TV show Project Runway.

“Not only due to the styling but as art created by a role model who they respect for handling what would have been such a messy situation with such ease and poise,” said David Zyla, Emmy Award-Winning Stylist.
