According to media sources, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences held a screening for voters at Samuel Goldwyn theatre in Beverly Hills which concludes that the film did not generate the kind of response from the audience that would suggest a successful awards season run next year.

An academy member told the media "People were kind of disappointed. It wasn't because of [Colorado]. I just don't think that this picture will get any nominations [beyond technical nods]."

Another member said that there was nothing remarkable in the movie so it cannot be nominated as best picture.

The writer Bret Easton Ellis tweeted, "Not that it really matters, but there was zero love for The Dark Knight Rises at the packed academy screening in Los Angeles tonight."

Sources added that “Batman” won Oscar for best supporting actor and “The Dark Knight” won Oscar for best sound editing along with other six nominations of technical category.
