Chairman Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari administered the oath.

Meanwhile, Leader of the House Jahangir Badr speaking in the house said that the session has been summoned to conclude discussion on the Presidential address to the joint sitting of both the Houses on 17th March this year.

Responding to points of order raised by different members, he said the session will continue for one week.

He clarified that the session has not been convened specially for oath of the newly elected Senator Rehman Malik.

Jahangir Badr also laid before the House the Third Quarterly Report for the year 2011-12 of the Central Board of Directors of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on the state of Pakistan's economy.
