A total of 116 Hollywood stars, with 124 Oscar holders between them, have posed for an ultimate A-list picture to honour the milestone. The grand photo features a line-up comprising some of the biggest names in the film industry.
The stars include Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Robert Downey Jr, Cameron Diaz, Charlize Theron, Sean Penn, and Justin Bieber. Famous filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, J J Abrams and David Fincher are also featured in the picture.
According to photographer Art Streiber, even the biggest names were humbled while clicking them for the noble cause.
It took about 20 minutes to get the stars in place but only a little more than five minutes to take the photo because, Streiber says, “Thee chairman of the studio, Brad Grey, made it very clear that he didn't want to torture his guests.”
The photo is actually three combined into one. “It's three frames,” Streiber explained. “It's a left, a middle and a right. We did that in order to give it a bigger-than-life panoramic feel.”
“It was more than thrilling... and incredibly nostalgic... to be part of that extraordinary gathering of actors who had worked for Paramount, as I had,” said Love Story star Ali MacGraw.
“This is epic,” gasped Leonardo DiCaprio as he entered Studio 18 on the Paramount lot and gaped at the line-up, whose box-office takings have totalled a staggering $103 billion.
