According to media sources, Bachchan was supposed to attend London Games opening ceremony but due to some professional commitments he was unable to take off.

After the delay of Dhoom 3, Bachchan is now ready to represent the international watch brand that he endorses along with Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman and swimmer Michael Phelps at the London Olympics.

Sources added, “Abhishek has been extremely excited about going to Olympics. The watch brand he endorses wants all their brand ambassadors to be present there so he is all set to take off on Saturday. The highlight of the trip will be a charity gala dinner that will be attended by several Hollywood biggies.”

Bachchan said that he would love to meet sportsmen especially Michael Phelps.

“I want to see any of the sports where our Indians are participating. I’d love to go cheer them on. Wrestling, boxing, any of the events we qualify for, I’d love to cheer the team,” he added.

Abhishek Bachchan’s father Amitabh Bachchan honored the London Games opening ceremony with his presence. He was the torch-bearer at the Olympics.
