The super-hero film, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale has beaten
‘The Avengers’ to the box office figure by two days.
Meanwhile, the third and final installment in Nolan's Batman film trilogy remains at number
one on the UK box office chart after taking $11.6 million (£7.28 million) in its second week
on release.
The Dark Knight Rises has become the third fastest film to reach $300 million (Gbp187.5 million) globally.
It took the movie only 12 days to reach the mark, according to the media reports.
Only ‘The Avengers’ (nine days) and ‘The Dark Knight’ (10 days) had reached the target
faster.
