Emma Watson denies ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ role

04 Aug, 2012

The Harry Potter Actress, 22, said she has not been contacted about playing heroine Anastasia Steele.

“I haven't read the book, I haven't a read a script, nothing,” Watson told a media tabloid.

“There are so many movies you become attached to when I’ve literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo — I never even saw a script!”

The rumor mill has been so hot that Watson has had to tell family and friends it's not true.

“I told them just because there are 60 articles on the Internet doesn't mean it's any less true than if there are three or four,” she said.

“The thing is, I'm not going to go out there every time someone attaches me to a film to say no or release a statement.”

Other stars rumored to be considered for the film are Emma Stone, Selena Gomez, Pretty Little Liars actress Lucy Hale and Gossip Girl Actress Katie Cassidy.

Christian Grey contenders are said to include Ryan Gosling, Zac Efron, Alex Pettyfer and Vampire Diaries hunk Ian Somerhalder.
