RAC holds group Qur’anic verses calligraphic exhibition

The masterpiece works of talented artists Elahi Bukhsh Matee, Imran Tahir, Khwaja Muhammad Hussain, Nadeem Sheikh, Sajjad Khurshid, Mahtab Javed, Rehmat Ali, Muhammad Azeem Iqbal and Younis Roomi were put on display.

Dr. Prof. Muhammad Shoaib Shafi, Vice-President, College of Physicians and Surgeons along with Waqar Ahmed Resident Director RAC inaugurated the exhibition. A total of 78 paintings were displayed which focused on the depiction of patterns and Arabic calligraphy. A large number of art lovers attended who appreciated the work of artists and commended the initiative of the council for holding the event.

After the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Prof. Shafi believed that “Remarkable illustrations of the names of God and Qur’anic verses dabbled in vibrant hues are the testimonies of their passionate attachment with their work and Islam, which would touch the inner routes of the viewers’ minds and hearts."

He said that calligraphers are guardians of Islamic heritage and the reason for bringing a positive image of the country.

Waqar Ahmed Resident Director said that the idea behind the exhibition was to foster old Islamic art and calligraphy skills which have a very rich heritage.

He announced that this Council is also holding the all Punjab Calligraphic Exhibition on August 13.
