She is said to be excited about her new work and can’t wait to get to work as she has always loved doing manicures.
“I actually went to beauty school in 11th grade so I could have something to fall back on,
so believe me; I’ve done my share of manicures as well as getting them. OPI knows that the polish you use makes a big difference not only in the look, but in the care of your nails
and that's why I believe in the brand,” she said.
The 42-year-old singer is better known for her beautiful voice and extended range than her
cosmetology expertise, however, OPI considers her to be an important part of the color selection of the new range.
“Nails are part of her personality. I really have always looked for celebrities for whom
nails are very important, and it is not something you just Photoshop on a picture. She was
very much part of the color selection,” said Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Executive Vice President
and Artistic Director of OPI.
The range will launch next year, with the first collection of eight shades hitting the
company’s global distribution of salons, spas and retailers.
It is officially announced that Carey would be joining the judging panel of 'American Idol' for season twelve.
