Condoling over the loss, Khan said, "I am feeling very sorry. I have known him (Vilasrao Deshmukh) for years. It is unexpected. He was a wonderful gentleman.”

Khan said that it was disturbing to know about the sad demise of Vilasrao Deshmukh.
"I am deeply disturbed. I am very sorry to hear this. Riteish is a close friend of mine, I spoke to him. My respects to the family," he added.

Vilasrao Deshmukh is survived by wife and three sons. His son Ritesh Deshmukh and daughter-in-law Genelia D’Souza are acclaimed bollywood actors.
