17 Aug, 2012

According to a Railways official the General Manager (Operation), Junaid Qureshi saw off the train saying that the railway operated three special trains this year despite difficult conditions and resource constraints.

The first Eid special had left Karachi Cantonment Station on Thursday with 780 passengers on board while the third Eid special will operate from Peshawar to Lahore on Saturday.

The Divisional Superintendent Anzar Ismail Rizvi maintained that this year more stringent measures had been taken to check black marketing of tickets.

He was of the view that in both the Eid special trains, Railways had provided better facilities of light, water and wash rooms and travelling people appreciated the same.

GM Railway Junaid Qureshi said that Railways was being run under odd conditions and opined that in such circumstances the work of the Railways operational, commercial and other staff was appreciable.
